The Gates and Plough Complex consists of three historic public and private buildings: the Plough Tavern (built in 1741), the Gates House (built in 1751), and the Bobb House (built in the 1830s). Each shows a different area of private and civic life in colonial America, with the Plough Tavern serving as the community centerpiece in terms of its role as a hotel, restaurant, and news networking center. All three buildings can be toured, and lie in a cluster just north of Penn Park
